WAESPAA facilitates professional networks on behalf of its members and to ensure provision of, and access to quality education services for all students with special needs.
The Association aims are:

- To promote and encourage research and other special projects.
- To promote excellence in special education through our annual conference.
- To provide professional development for professional leaders.

Networking
WAESPAA offers a professional network that supports its members in many ways. The WAESPAA chatline is a vehicle for members to share ideas, gain up-to-date information and ask questions of colleagues.
A number of professional learning opportunities are offered to members each term with topics chosen as a direct result of member feedback. Regular social networking events and a formal Awards Night are also supported by the Association. A country member’s teleconference link to Executive is another way in which WAESPAA endeavours to ensure all members contribute to the Association’s activities
Professional Growth

- Appreciation program through the annual awards evening.
